INTRODUCING | A revolutionary 1200V 15A fully integrated half-bridge high-side switch
Carlsbad, USA / November 23rd, 2020 – SimpleChips Technology Inc., a global provider of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for commercial, medical, industrial and military applications, today announced it successfully integrated a complete 1200V 15A High-Side Switch into a single TO-263 package. The 16SCT100 is extremely compact and easy to use to drive resistive (need to check inductive loads…) loads.
Currently, high power high-side switches are generally implemented using a high power IGBT or MOSFET combined with a companion Gate Driver and discrete components. This topology, although flexible, requires significant board space which might not be suitable to all commercial, industrial or medical application. The 16SCT100 is designed to optimize space by offering a standalone high-side switch into a single TO-263 package. It does not require any external components while it provides enough creepage distances to support operation without the use of conformal coating or PCB slots. “Over the past years, we have developed very small high voltage Gate Drivers for medical implant devices, and by reusing our technology we developed a product we believe will enable more compact products” says Alain Comeau, CEO & CTO at SimpleChips.
The device is easy to operate directly with low voltage control lines. The device provides excellent power efficiency with low On-Resistance (210mOhms) and high-voltage off current.
The 16SCT100 is in final phase of development and evaluation samples are available for qualified customers.
